Crypto Profit Calculator

by

This crypto profit and loss calculator shows your gain or loss on a trade after fees. Enter your buy price, sell price, quantity, and fees to see your profit and return on investment.

How Crypto Profit Is Calculated

Profit = (Sell Price × Quantity) − (Buy Price × Quantity) − Fees

Your profit is what you receive when selling minus what you paid to buy, minus any exchange or network fees. Return on investment (ROI) expresses that profit as a percentage of your total cost, so you can compare trades of different sizes on equal footing.

Worked Example

Buying 2 coins at $1,000 each and selling at $1,500 each with $50 in total fees: proceeds = $3,000, cost = $2,000 + $50 = $2,050, so profit = $950 — about a 46% return.

Do Not Forget

  • Fees add up: trading, withdrawal, and network (gas) fees all reduce your real return.
  • Taxes: selling or trading crypto at a profit is usually a taxable capital gain.
  • Holding period: holding more than a year may qualify for lower long-term capital gains rates.

This tool covers a single buy-and-sell trade. For recurring purchases, use the dollar-cost averaging calculator.
